Tunneling in double-layered quantum Hall systems
(pdf)
Xiao-Gang Wen and A. Zee
Phys. Rev. B44, 2265 (1993).
Predicted that the interlayer tunneling in certain double-layer quantum Hall
states behaves like tunneling between two superconducting thin films. The
prediction was observed by
I.
B. Spielman et al, Phys. Rev. Lett. 84, 5808 (2000).

Predicted an AC Josephson-like-effect with a fractional Josephson frequency
f=eV/h in interlayer tunneling. Not observed yet.

Neutral Superfluid Modes and ``Magnetic'' monopoles in Multi-layered
FQH States
(pdf)
Xiao-Gang Wen and A. Zee
Phys. Rev. Lett. 69, 1811 (1992).
Predicted a spontaneous U(1) symmetry breaking and related
superfluidity/superconductivity in (mmm) double-layer FHQ state (in
the absence of interlayer tunneling), which include
- Kosterliz-Thouless transition (not obersved yet)
- a "superconductivity" in the counter flow in the two layers
(not observed yet)
- a symmetry breaking gapless Goldstone mode in (mmm) state.
When m=1 we recover the linear gapless mode
first found by Fertig in (111) state. The gapless mode was observed in
(111) state by
I.
B. Spielman et al.
